I never needed an easy story.

Being a Raiders fan has meant staying with a story that keeps changing shape: different cities, different eras, long seasons, short bursts of joy, and the stubborn reason to clear the calendar anyway.

Gregory Foland, who writes as Greg Foland, is the independent fan writer behind The Last Row Ledger. This is a personal record of the games, eras, and rituals that have stayed with him.

I come back for the attitude. There is something compelling about a team history that has never felt neat around the edges. It leaves room for characters, unexpected turns, and the kind of loyalty that does not depend on a tidy record.

Fandom is a calendar, not a verdict.

A lifelong fan does not remain because every Sunday delivers. You remain because the ritual enters your week: the quiet build before kickoff, the familiar voices, the old game stories, and the knowledge that the next snap might change the mood of an entire room.

I do not speak for every Raiders fan. These pages record what the team means from my seat: the history I keep revisiting, the questions I take into the next game, and the rare afternoon when every part of it clicks.

Why keep a journal?

The Last Row Ledger gives me a place to write that record in public without posing as an insider or an official source. It holds the postgame reaction, the history detour, the Las Vegas trip planning, the player memory, and the small custom that makes an ordinary Sunday feel larger.
